John & Pat Hume Scholarships

For the academic year 2010-11, the National University of Ireland, Maynooth is offering over 30 new John & Pat Hume Scholarships to outstanding postgraduate research students.

Eligibility

Open to: students wishing to commence a PhD from October 2010.  Applicants must hold either:

•    a first class honours degree;
•    an upper second-class honours primary degree with a first in the proposed discipline;
•    a first class  taught masters degree (or equivalent); or
•    hold a Research Masters degree

These degrees may be from Ireland, the EU or from any overseas university.

Scholarship Value:

The Scholarship is valued at €5000 per annum stipend, plus fees paid.  In some cases, the department may also wish to supplement the scholarship with an additional €3000 for tutorial or demonstrating duties.

Application Procedure

Applicants can download the application form in Word format from the link below.  The application form must be completed in full, and submitted to the Graduate Studies Office in both original signed copy, and also by email by the closing date.  Both versions must be submitted.  Where only one version, either emailed or original signed is submitted, the application will be deemed ineligible.

Call Opens: Monday 22nd March, 2010

Call Closes: 5pm Friday 7th May, 2010
