INTERNAL FUNDING FOR RESEARCH AND TAUGHT PROGRAMMES AT NUI MAYNOOTH

NUI Maynooth has been Ireland’s fast growing university in recent years, doubling in size to over 8,000 students since 2004.  Postgraduate student numbers have increased by more than 50% to 1,800 and average entrance points have risen from 397 to 425. Research income has tripled to €34 million in the same period.

NEW Taught Masters Bursaries 2012-13

NUI Maynooth has launched new Taught Masters Bursaries for 2012-13 at its Postgraduate Open Evening on the 13th March 2012. Further information is available by contacting graduatestudies@nuim.ie

John & Pat Hume Research Scholarships – 2012 Competition now closed

Scholarships worth €5,000 per annum for maintenance and an additional €5,000 per annum for payment of fees for the duration of the PhD will be available across all disciplines at the University.  In some cases an additional fund of €3,000 for tutorials and laboratory demonstrations will be made available by departments. Application deadline: 5pm, 8th May 2012.

NUI Maynooth Taught Masters Entrance Scholarship

The NUI Maynooth Taught Masters Entrance Scholarship will be offered to every department offering a Postgraduate Taught Masters Degree programme.

The Prize is valued at €1000 and is given to the NUI Maynooth graduate who achieves the highest overall First Class Honours results in the cohort of Taught Masters applications to the department.

Criteria:

  1. The recipient must have the highest overall First Class Honours undergraduate result, from NUI Maynooth, in the cohort of applications to the Department
  2. The recipient must be undertaking a Postgraduate Taught Masters Degree programme at NUI Maynooth.
  3. Candidates who have not applied on PAC by the end of August will not be considered.

The Graduate Studies Office will review all candidates who have applied on PAC by checking the results on the ‘Ranked Student by Qualification Report’ on SRS Exams at the end of August and will provide details of the proposed recipient to the department.
